I have a lawn mower from Makita and I love it. I honestly think it’s the best lawnmower I ever owned.
However, the battery sometimes won’t last for my entire yard. Until now I used to finish the front, take a break for an hour or 2 until it will fill the batteries again.
Well… No more, with the extra batteries I got I can just switch them out and continue to the backyard.
The battery seems very powerful and strong. Just like the original battery that came with my lawnmower.

I was a little shocked when I took this out of the box. Its like a Makita battery on steroids. The battery case is significantly larger than the OEM 3.0 AH Makita battery. Interestingly, I've have a 6.5AH clone of the Makita that was the same physical size as the 3.0AH. Makes me believe that this really is an 8.4 AH battery
Even with the larger size, the belt clips on my drill and impact driver cleared the edges of this battery. It also removes any tippiness from the driver with the battery attached.
I don't find that the extra weight is that significant. The tool with the battery, still feels balanced.
This is a bigger amperage than my factory battery, I am careful to not overheat the motor, but it definitely lasts longer and charges really fast on a quick charger. Excellent replacement at a fraction of the cost.
I like the power and potential use time of this battery, but it didn't fit my chainsaw! It fits my other Makita tools, like the weed Wacker, but the battery was too wide to slide into the slots on my chainsaw. I would be upset if I didn't have other Makita tools that it does fit. Besides that, it is a fine battery. I'll update if something changes.
This battery works well with my tools though costs much less than the OEM battery. After completely charging it I ran a discharge test and 134.49 watt-hours after the battery pack had dropped to 13.5v (2.7v/cell). This is about 89% of the rated capacity, and much higher than most batteries I've tested which tend to get closer to 60-70% of their rated capacity. I would rather carry one battery like this and save the weight of two smaller ones. I found that my older more basic charger would not work with this as it required the communication contacts (under the yellow plastic on the top of the battery) so if you're upgrading from an older battery make sure your charger is also compatible.
